The Companion book to the “Designing Healthy Communities” video series highlights how we design the built environment, and its potential for addressing and preventing many of the nation’s devastating childhood and adult health concerns.Co-authors Jackson and Sinclair look at the root causes of our malaise and highlights healthy community designs achieved by planners, designers, health professions, and community leaders working together, many for the first time. Ultimately, Dr. Jackson encourages all of us to make the kinds of positive changes highlighted by this book.

I hope you’ve included the Village Homes Project in Davis, California since it was designed in 1974 it’s become one of the most respected and well thoughtout developments in North America and honored all over the world. Micheal and Judy Corbett, designed it and if you tour it and ask the
residences there you see and feel a community that loves living there as the design itself did
a lot of building community. Sincere, Bruce L Erickson
P. S. I’ve been working on creating sustainable, regenerative communities and overall issues of living in these changes times. Currently my work is with an international team and the sustainability issues of Japan.
I’ll do my part to encourage this type of design in mobile home parks
